1.How do I select a correct boot code file?
The boot code file plays an important role during a download
procedure. It takes care of programming flash ROM and is responsible
for data receiving/transmission. The boot code files for download vary
as different MS models. For March model, it uses r_flash_xxx.mot.
When the new vendor flash used in handset, the boot code
r_flash_xxx.mot need upgrade to new version, which support new
vendor flash. Users just need to click the "Boot File" button in Download
window or click the "Set Boot Code File" menu button in "File" menu to
select this file.
2. Why can't I download/upgrade programs into the handset?
For RS232 download, verify the following procedures step by step:
1. Do you set the switch to left side in your downloader?
2. Do you assign a correct boot code file?
3. Do you select a correct COM port?
4. Dose the connection between the MS and PC setup properly?
5. Do you power off the MS before the download starts?
6. Do you power on the MS after the sentence "Wait for Target
ready..." appear?
7. Have you ever terminated a download process when it was
downloading the block 0 and 1 codes? If yes, then the boot-code
area of this handset has been corrupted and can't use RS232
download.
3. Why can't set e2p?
1. Do you select a correct COM port?
2. Dose the connection between the MS and PC setup properly?
3. Do you power off the MS before the Set E2p starts?
4. If the sentence "Wait for Target read..." dosen't appear, it may be
some application occupied the com port now. Please terminate
that application and execute set e2p again.
