ASSEMBLING THE CRANKCASE

1. Thoroughly clean all the gasket mating sur-
faces and crankcase mating surfaces.
2. Apply:
• sealant
(onto the crankcase mating surfaces)
Yamaha bond No. 1215
90890-85505
Sealant (Quick Gasket
ACC-11001-05-01
NOTE:
_
Do not allow any sealant to come into contact
with the oil gallery.
3. Tighten:
• crankcase bolts
NOTE:
Tighten the crankcase bolts in stages and in a
crisscross pattern.
• M8 × 100 mm (3.94 in) bolt: 1
• M8 × 90 mm (3.54 in) bolt: 2
• M8 × 80 mm (3.15 in) bolt: 3
• M8 × 60 mm (2.36 in) bolts: 4
• M6 × 70 mm (2.76 in) bolts: 5

30 Nm (3.0 m · kg, 22 ft · lb)
Bolt 2 ~ 4
16 Nm (1.6 m · kg, 11 ft · lb)
Bolt 5
10 Nm (1.0 m · kg, 7.2 ft · lb)
