CHECKING THE TRANSMISSION

1. Check:
• transmission gears
Blue discoloration/pitting/wear → Replace
the defective gear(s).
• transmission gear dogs
Cracks/damage/rounded edges → Replace
the defective gear(s).
2. Check:
• transmission gear movement
Rough movement → Replace the defective
part(s).
3. Check:
• circlips
Bends/damage/looseness → Replace.
INSTALLING THE PRIMARY DRIVE GEAR
OIL SEAL
1. Install:
• primary drive gear oil seal 1
NOTE:
Press the primary drive gear oil seal into the
transmission case cover as shown in the illus-
tration.
a 1.5 ~ 2.0 mm (0.059 ~ 0.079 in)
