Chapter 4: Troubleshooting

General enclosure problems

Symptom
Fails to power on.

Power cord(s) not
connected correctly.
Power not available at
the outlet.
Power switch not in the
correct position.
Faulty power cord.
Faulty power supply.

Solution
Verify that the power cord is
correctly connected to the power
module.
If the enclosure is plugged into a
three-hole grounded outlet, verify
that power to the outlet has not
been interrupted. This can be
accomplished by testing the outlet
with a known working appliance,
like a lamp.
Be sure that the power switch is in
the "On" position, labeled with an
"I."
Replace the power cord.
Identify the failed PSU, see
"Replacing a power supply" on
page 66.
If the enclosure is not responding,
contact your service provider.
