The following table lists some, but not all, possible configurations. For best performance, HP recommends
dual-bank interleaved mode configurations.

Installing DIMMs

Power down the server (on page 20).
1.
Remove the server from the rack (on page 20).
2.
Remove the primary access panel (on page 21).
3.
Open the DIMM slot latches.
4.
Install the DIMM.
5.
Install the access panel.

Install the server into the rack.

Hard drive options

The server provides non-hot plug capability through an embedded SATA controller. To obtain hot-plug
capability, install an optional controller and hot-plug cable option kit.
