The EGR heat exchanger is located above the cylinder head
water distribution pipe. Part of the liquid from the pipe goes to the
heat exchanger through the bushing with a rubber ring, cools down
exhaust gases and is drained through the external pipe to the service
module water collecting channel.
The cooling liquid from the distribution pipe also cools down
the air break compressor and is then sent to the cylinder block water
collecting channel.
The cooling liquid (CL) is drained from the engine cooling
system through the CL feed pipe from the engine radiator (See
Fig. 24).
ATTENTION!
1. ATTENTION! FOR THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM USE
ONLY THE COOLANTS SPECIFIED IN THE CONSUMABLES
SECTION OF THIS MANUAL
2. AFTER DRAINAGE OF THE COOLING LIQUID FROM THE
ENGINE,
THERE

COMPRESSOR AND ITS PIPES.
3. IN EMERGENCY CASES WHEN WATER IS USED AS THE
COOLING LIQUID, TO PREVENT ENGINE PARTS FROM
FREEZING UP, AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND THE
ENGINE DRAIN WATER FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM, DISCONNECT THE AIR BREAK
COMPRESSOR COOLING LIQUID INLET AND OUTLET PIPES
AND BLOW THE PIPES AND THE COMPRESSOR WITH
COMPRESSED AIR.
The service module is designed to reduce the number of parts
and connecting pipelines. The service module includes a water pump,
a liquid-to-oil heat exchanger (L/O HE), thermostats and an oil filter
mounted on one common housing (see Fig. 24 and 24а).
The service module is installed on the cylinder block flange at
the right front. The coolant cavity and the oil channels are sealed with
a common steel gasket with beads.
