Daily Maintenance (Dm); First Scheduled Maintenance (M-1) - Yaroslavl Engine Plant YMZ-536 Operation Manual

One of the SMs must be conducted in parallel with the next regular
maintenance.
One-time maintenance operations
1. Check the engine operation.
2. Check the generator with an ampere meter.
3. After the engine stops, check the sound of the running
turbocharger.
4. Examine the engine, clean off any dirt or dust if necessary,
remove oil, fuel or coolant leakage if any.
5. Fill the fuel tank with fuel before it cools down to avoid
water vapours condensation.
6. Check the oil level in the crankcase.
7. Check for leakage by means of the water pump drain hole.
8. Check for the presence of water or dirt in the water sump of
the coarse fuel filter and drain the sump if necessary.

FIRST SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE (M-1)

1. Examine the engine, clean off any dirt or dust, if necessary.
2. Change the oil in the engine lubrication system
ATTENTION! Change the oil in accordance with the
section "RECOMMENDED MOTOR OIL GRADES"
3. Change the oil filtering elements
ATTENTION! Change the oil filtering elements when you
change oil.
4. Change the replaceable fuel filter element
5. Change the filtering element of the coarse fuel filter (drain
water from the water sump beforehand)
6. Tighten, if necessary, threaded connections, eliminate
possible oil, fuel or coolant leakage.
7. Check the status and the tension of the drive belts.
