has a tapered socket, and the union 3 has a tapered end. The joint is
tightened by means of a cap screw 5 from the outer side of the
cylinder head. The cap screw 5 is screwed into the cylinder head and
presses the union through the thrust collar.
The fuel leaking from the joint fills up the entire free space in
the injector sleeve 7 and around the fitting 3 up to the injector sealing
ring 6 and is removed from the engine via a drain channel 13 drilled in
the cylinder head connecting the cavities of all injector fittings.
The location of the engine sensors and electric harnesses as
well as their functions are ahown in Fig. 4 – 8; 8a – 8e.
 crankshaft speed sensor located on the flywheel housing;
 camshaft speed sensor located on the flywheel housing;
 oil pressure and temperature sensor located on the flywheel
housing;
 cooling liquid temperature sensor located on the service
module;
 charge air pressure sensor located on the inlet pipe;
 fuel pressure sensor incorporated in the common rail;
 low-pressure line fuel pressure and temperature sensor located
on the fine fuel filter housing.
