5.12 Power Supply

The power supply is located in the rear left side of the computer. The power supply
attaches and connects to the system board.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 5.4).
2. Remove any battery pack(s) from the computer (Section 5.7).
3. Remove the keyboard assembly (Section 5.11).
4. Remove the left rear cover
and lifting it off the power supply (Figure 5-33).
5. Use the connector removal tool to disconnect the power supply cable
system board.
6. Remove the two screws that secure the power supply to the system board and the
screw that secures the ground clip to the processor module assembly
the ferrite beads on the power supply cable do not obstruct the removal of the
inboard screw.
NOTE: Make special note of the alignment and orientation of the ground clip. The
longer horizontal plane should be on top when it is replaced.
