I. Disconnecting the Power 1. Turn off the computer using the Power button (see Figure 1-2). Figure 1-2 2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet 1 and computer 2 (see Figure 1-3). Failure to disconnect the power from the computer may result in personal injury.

II. Opening the Side Access Panel 1. Remove the screw 1 securing the side access panel. Locate the latch 2 directly below the screw, press down, and hold in the down position (see Figure 2-1). You do not have to replace the screw securing the side access Figure 2-1 panel.

III. Removing the Upper Front Panel and CD Storage Door (Lower Front Panel) 1. Locate the front panel door lock inside the chassis. The lock is located on the base of the lower 3.5” diskette drive cage inside the chassis (see Figure 3-1). 2.

4. Locate the finger holes 1 under the bottom of the upper front panel and place your fingers in the holes. Pull the upper front panel forward until the top panel tabs 2 release from the slots on the chassis (see Figure 3-3). Figure 3-3 EPLACING A ISKETTE...

IV. Locating the Diskette Drive See the illustration below for the location of the Diskette Drive (see Figure 4-1). V. Removing the Diskette Drive 1. Disconnect the Data Cable 1 and the Power Cable 2 from the drive by using a gentle rocking motion. The Data Cable has a green tab on it. You may pull the tab to remove the cable (see Figure 5-1).

2. From the front of the computer, press both sides of the drive rails 1 and pull out the drive 2 (see Figures 5-3). Steps 2 and 3 are to be done in front of the computer chassis. Figure 5-3 3.
VI. Replacing the Diskette Drive To replace the Diskette Drive, complete the following procedure: Note: Save all the packing materials received with your replacement card. You will need them to return the defective part. 1. Attach the drive rails that were removed from the defective drive to the replacement drive (see Figure 6-1).

VIII. Replacing the Side Access Panel Align the tabs on the top and bottom of the side access panel with the slots (located on the top and bottom edge) of the chassis and slide the side access panel into place (see figure 8-1).
