Checking free play of foot brake lever

Warning
Danger of accidents Brake system failure.
If there is no free travel on the foot brake pedal, pressure builds up on the rear brake in the brake system. The rear brake can
fail due to overheating. Adjust free travel on foot brake pedal according to specifications.
Check the brake linings for minimum thickness
» Minimum thickness
If the minimum thickness is less than specified:
Worn brake linigs should be replaced immediately in an authorized KTM work-
shop.

Disconnect spring
Move the foot brake lever backwards and forwards between the end stop and the foot
brake cylinder piston bracket and check free play
Specification
Free play at foot brake lever
» If the free travel does not meet specifications:
Have the free travel corrected in an authorized KTM workshop.
Reconnect spring

: 1 mm ( 0.04 in)
