Sinee the RS-232 eireuit has no switehes for the following funetions, they will always be assigned
the following characteristics when used as remote console by the Boot ROM:
• 8 bits/char,
• no parity,
• a single stop bit,
• 9600 baud, and
• XON /XOFF handshaking.
The display on the terminal will be the same as the display on a monitor. Keyboard functionality
will also be the same, except that the
I
Break
I
key on the terminal is mapped to the
I
Reset
I
key on
the local keyboard.
During the self-test of I/O cards, the circuit driving the remote interface will not be disturbed.
It was tested earlier and passed.
Note that use of the
I
Enter
I
and
[!~
keys during Boot ROM execution can eause the terminal's
display to become scrambled.
