BASIC OPERATION

Scan function

The transceiver has a high speed scan function (8 chan-
nels/sec.) for standing by on utility signals.
Two scan types are available:
16 while scanning all tag channels) and
all tag channels in sequence). These scans can be selected
in set mode (p. 19).

Priority scan
Scan resume timer:
When a signal is detected, scan pauses until the signal dis-
appears or resumes after pausing 5 sec., according to the set
mode setting. (p. 19)
Confirming tag channels:
While operating scan, rotate the channel selector.
• Only tag channels are selected.
• Stop rotating the channel selector to resume scan.

You can specify channels as tag channels for efficient scanning.
Select the desired channel, then push and hold
[
•TAG] for 1 sec. to toggle the tag setting.

NOTE: For U.K. and Italy versions, tag channels can be

set separately for each channel group (INT, USA). Select
the desired group in advance.

Be sure the squelch is set to the threshold point.
Push [SCAN] to start scanning.
• "SCAN" appears and flashes in the function display.
• "16" appears during priority scan.
To stop the scan, push [SCAN] again.
• "SCAN" disappears.
