Chapter 10 / EDLIN Command Reference
• Begin the search string immediately after the S in the com-
mand line. End it by pressing

Any spaces you include
are considered part of the search string.
• In multiple line commands, terminate the string with

CTRL

instead of

You may then follow the string with
another command, in the next character position.
Examples
Assume that the following file exists and is ready to be edited.
Line 5 is the current line.

2: shows how the Search command functions
3: to locate and point out
4: a specified string

8: may include the optional parameter? and
9: 2 line parameters for the range.
