5.4 Replacing Parts under the Light Shield
5.4.1 Removing the Optical Engine
5.4.1.4 Replacing the LCD in Optical Engine

To replace the LCD in optical engine 750-0605-00.
1. Place the LCD at the top of its slot on the optical
engine. It will only fit one way.
2. Fold the ribbon cable back on itself to allow it to
pass under the optical engine frame. See picture
on the opposite page.
3. Slide the LCD the rest of the way in.
4. Unfold the ribbon cable and feed it out of the opti-
cal engine housing.
5. Replace the output fresnel. The grooved side
points toward the LCD.
6. Position the main optical engine cover as shown
in the picture on the opposite page. Do not screw
it into place yet.
7. Place the lens assembly into its place sliding the
two tabs on one side into the slots on the main
cover.
8. Reinstall the 9 screws that hold the lens and main
cover in place.
9. Attach the LCD position motor assembly to the
LCD as shown in the picture on the opposite
page;
10. Reconnect the LCD temperature sensor cable.
11. Slide the ribbon cable into the connector on the
LCD ribbon cable interface board. Make sure it is
seated all the way in.
12. Reconnect the LCD ribbon cable interface board
to the optical engine.
