2.1.2.4 How to Read the Inside LEDs

If the screen is off, or if you can look through the rear access panel, the 11 LEDs inside give you the
most important information about the state of the electronics module.
The 11 status LEDs are inside the display on the elec-
tronics module. To see them, you can open the rear
access door or remove the screen.
If everything is running correctly, and the lamp is
on, you will see the following LED pattern:

If the standby LED is on and not flashing, the sys-
tem is waiting for an ON command. Use the
remote and press
ON
this display from the RS232 computer.
If the standby LED is flashing slowly (one flashing
per second), the system is in lockout. The LED
should stop flashing within 30 seconds. Then you
can turn on the lamp as above.
If the standby LED is flashing quickly (about two
times per second), the system is trying to ignite the
lamp. If it succeeds, this LED will go out. If it fails
to strike the lamp, this LED will flash slowly for
the 30-second lockout period.

If you try to turn on the lamp, and the Standby LED
immediately starts flashing slowly, it means that an
interlock is open. This is usually the rear access lamp
door or the light shield.
If the Standby LED flashes quickly, it means the
system is in the Ignition state. Either the lamp will
ignite (strike an arc) and the Standby LED will go out,
or the lamp won't light, and the Standby LED will
flash more slowly, the lockout state.
