5.4 Replacing Parts under the Light Shield

5.4.1.6 Replacing the LCD in Optical Engine

To replace the LCD in optical engine 750-0605-01
1. Place the LCD at the top of its slot on the optical
engine. It will only fit one way.
2. Grasp the LCD with your right hand. With your
left hand fold the lower part of the ribbon cable
back on itself and pinch it far enough for it to pass
under the optical engine housing.
3. Slide the LCD down into the slot approximately 1
inch.
4. With your left hand pinch the top part of the rib-
bon cable far enough to allow the cable to pass
under the optical engine housing.
5. Slide the LCD the rest of the way down.
6. Position the main optical engine cover as shown
in the picture on the opposite page. Do not screw
it into place yet.
7. Place the lens assembly into its place sliding the
two tabs on one side into the slots on the main
cover.
8. Reinstall the 9 screws that hold the lens and main
cover in place.
9. Attach the LCD position motor assembly to the
LCD as shown in the picture on the opposite
page;
10. Reconnect the LCD temperature sensor cable.
11. Slide the ribbon cable into the connector on the
LCD ribbon cable interface board. Make sure it is
seated all the way in. There is a non-shiny area at
the end of the ribbon cable. To be sure that the
cable is seated properly that non-shiny area must
only have about 2mm of visibility and the line
where it meets the shiny part must be straight in
relation to the connector. See picture on opposite
page.
12. Reconnect the LCD ribbon interface board to the
optical engine.
