Telephone operation
Analog corded 2-line - A1220
Mute
To mute the microphone:
1.
During a call, press MUTE on the telephone base. The MUTE key illuminates when the mute function is turned on. You can hear
the party on the other end but they cannot hear you.

Press MUTE again to resume the conversation. The light on the MUTE
Hold
When a call is placed on hold, any parallel phone that tries to use the same phone line will take the call off hold and pick the call.
To place a call on hold:
During a call, press HOLD on the telephone base to place that call on hold. The respective line key flashes when the call is

both lines are on hold, press
Conference call
This telephone allows three-way conversations.
To initiate a conference call:
1.
Place a call to the first party.
Press HOLD to place the first party on hold.

Place a second call on the other line.
4.
Once the second party is on the line, press CONF to start a three-way conference.
To initiate a conference call while both calls are on hold:
Press CONF to start a three-way conference.
To end a conference call:
Press the line key that you want to maintain connection and the other line will be dropped.
When the conference call is in speakerphone mode, press CONF or
When the conference call is in handset earpiece mode, place the corded handset back in the telephone base to end.
When there is more than one telephone on the conference call, the call ends when all telephones hang up.
Data port
You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The data port routes to line 2.
/SPEAKER to release the call from hold. The respective line key illuminates when in use. When
/SPEAKER only releases the call on hold on line 1.
