care and cleaning

Always switch off and unplug before cleaning.
G
G
Never put the machine in water or let the flex or plug get wet.
G
If you're using this instead of the flow control block, change it every
month. To remove it, twist and pull. For replacement water filter
cartridges see 'service and customer care' page 5.
Before fitting the cartridge, immerse it in water for 10 minutes first to
1
remove any air bubbles.
After fitting it, run two lots of water through the machine (without
2
coffee).
G
The parts below (except the body) are dishwasher safe.
G
Push the lid off
. Wash, then dry.
Wash, then dry. The flow control block only needs washing
G
occasionally.
G
Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry. Don't use abrasives - they'll scratch
the plastic.
Remove it: open, lift, then unslot the bottom
1
Wash, then dry.
2
If you use the flow control block instead of a water filter cartridge, you'll
G
occasionally need to descale. You'll know when limescale has built up
because your coffee will take longer to come through.
Buy a suitable descaler.
1
Fit the flow control block, not a water filter cartridge.
2
Descale the machine.
3
After descaling, run several lots of water through the machine to clean
4
it out. Fill the tank to the top cup mark when you do this. If you decide
to use a water filter cartridge, fit it after this cleaning stage.
Wash the parts.
