Can I still use the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor with a USB 1.1 connection?
The Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor can be used with a USB 1.1 connection. However,
because of bandwidth limitations inherent with USB 1.1, the Ulead applications
have been configured to limit video capture bandwidth to 5 Mbps (which provides
excellent visual quality for MPEG capture but cannot support DV capture).
This USB 1.1 bandwidth limitation on video capture has been set such that there is
a limited amount of bandwidth held in reserve for simultaneous USB traffic, in
particular sending Preview audio from your computer to the Audigy 2 ZS Video
Editor and use of low-speed USB devices, such as a USB mouse, connected to the
Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor. Use of high-speed devices, such as external USB hard
drives, should be avoided on the same USB 1.1 bus as the Audigy 2 ZS Video
Editor during video capture.
• Exercise care and avoid excessive force when connecting the DV cable to the
Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor or to your camera.
• Always download the latest drivers, firmware and updates.
• When encountering difficulties in detecting/recognizing devices, check that the
devices are already recognized and working properly in Windows' Device
Manager. After Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor is properly installed and recognized on
the USB bus, you will see these two devices in the Sound, video and game
controllers section of Device Manager: Creative USB SB Audigy 2 External
Video Device and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Audio Device.
• When reconnecting the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor to your computer, use the
same USB port that you first used to install the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor.
• If, for some reason, the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor is turned off, or disconnected
while a Ulead application is active, restart the Ulead application after restarting/
reconnecting the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor.
• Videos previewed on your computer monitor may look darker than on a TV due
to differences in display characteristics. See "Television Display" on page 7-2.
• Avoid frequent Pause and Resume operations during video capture, as these
may lead to audio/video synchronization issues.
