Settings for
Output
Audio Type:
Use Dolby Digital most of the time as it has the best compatibility with DVD
players. Use PCM for less audio compression. Use MPEG audio for compatibility
with European DVD players or when you want the lowest audio bitrate (MPEG
audio may not be compatible with some DVD players). See "Digital Audio Formats
" on page A-8.
Sample Rate:
Use 48Khz.
Audio Bitrate:
Use a bitrate between 192 – 384 Kbps. For best use of space, use the lowest
setting for your Audio Type. If your soundtrack contains high quality audio, use
384 Kbps.
In DVD MovieFactory, projects have settings that dictate the format of your video
and audio capturing and rendering. Above, we've discussed setting these
parameters for capturing with the understanding that it is best to plan ahead and
capture in the final output format desired so as to avoid the time and slight quality
loss of converting video during rendering. Still, in some situations you may want to
set these parameters during the render phase.
