Checking the
Available Space on
Your DVD
The space shown on
your DVD is affected
not only by the size of
your video, but also by
your output settings,
which control the
compression of the
video as it is written to
the DVD. An important
Project Setting called
Don't Convert DVD-
compliant MPEG
allows you to override
these settings.
Organizing Your
DVD
DVD MovieFactory shows you the
remaining space on your DVD at the
bottom of the Add/Edit Media window.
To check the size of a video, right-click
the video and select the Media Clip
Properties option.
There are two ways you can control the
size of the videos in your project.
• During Capture to MPEG you can set
the capture parameters – see
"Controlling the MPEG Capture
Parameters" on page 5-7.
• You can trim the videos.
Your DVD can have multiple
titles and each title can have
multiple chapters. Each video
that is captured or imported
will by default become a title
and will show on the DVD's
Title Menu (sometimes called
Top Menu), unless menus are
