Receiving Remote Control from MIDI devices
The R-1000 supports remote control from a device connected to the MIDI connector. You can remote control from a MIDI device
like electronic musical instruments or MIDI sequencers. The MIDI messages below can be sent/received.

Set device ID and MIDI OUT/THRU of connector
If you are remote controlling from a MIDI device, set the MIDI device ID and function of MIDI OUT/THURU connector as shown
below.
1.
Open the menu
Press [MENU] button to open the menu.
2.
Select the remote control menu
Select the [SYSTEM] menu and then select [REMOTE CONTROL]. The setup screen for remote control opens up.
3.
Select a device ID
Select [DEVICE ID] in MIDI and select an ID for the R-1000 from 1 through 32.
4.
Set function for MIDI OUT/THRU connector
Go back to the previous setup screen and select [MIDI OUT/THRU]. Select the function from below.

Receiving Remote Control from USB MIDI devices
The R-1000 supports remote control from a computer connected to the front panel USB-PC connector. You can send the
messages shown below.

If you are using a computer as USB MIDI device, you must install the V-Mixer driver to your computer. Download the driver from the Roland
website.

You can also remotely control the R-1000 from the dedicated remote control software "R-1000 RCS". You can download it from the Roland

Set device ID
If you are remote controlling from USB MIDI device, set the MIDI device ID as shown below.

Open the menu
