INFORMATION
Batteries
WARNING
!
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHANGE THE BATTER-
IES WHILE THE FIREPLACE IS STILL HOT! Let
the fi replace cool fi rst before touching it.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE a screwdriver or other metallic
object to remove the batteries from the battery box
or the handset! This could cause a short circuit.
Low batteries signal: see page 14.
BEFORE changing the batteries, disconnect the
battery box from the receiver.
The appliance uses four 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries
for its battery box and one 9 V alkaline battery for its
handset. Batteries should last one to two seasons,
depending on usage. Removing the batteries in the off-
season will extend the battery life.
To replace the batteries in the battery box:
The battery box is located in a sliding carrier to the
right hand side of the appliance behind the front panel.

The battery box is located on the bottom of the
appliance behind the front panel.
1. Remove the barrier screen, side doors and plinth.

3. Remove and disconnect the battery box.
Do not pull the box out by the wire.
4. Remove the screw and slide the cover off.
5. Replace the batteries with
4 AA alkaline batteries
orienting them as indicated
inside the holder.
6. Replace the cover and
screw in place.
7. Reconnect the battery box.
8. Put the battery box back in
its carrier, and push slide
back in to position.
9. Reinstall the plinth, side
doors and barrier screen.
Lighting, Operation and
Rating Information

fi replace cool fi rst before touching it.
The Lighting, Operation and Rating information is
located on a plate at the right hand side of the fi replace
opening. The plate slides out from under the plinth.
Window
The rating plate is located behind the front panel of the
appliance towards the right-hand side.
To access the plate, remove the barrier screen, side
doors and the plinth. Grab the return edge of the
plate and slide it out of its rails. There is important
information on both sides of the plate.
