Offi cial Rail Road Speed Control (continued)
Train Speed Defi nitions:
Restricted speed : 5 mph
A speed that will permit stopping with one-half the range of vision, looking out for
train, obstruction, switch not properly lined or broken rail, but not exceeding either
15 or 20 miles per hour as defi ned by the operating railroad.
Slow speed: 20 mph
A speed not exceeding 15 or 20 miles per hour, as defi ned by the operating rail-
road.
Medium speed : 35 mph
A speed not exceeding either 30 or 40 miles per hour, as defi ned by the operating
railroad.
Limited speed : 50 mph
A speed not exceeding 45 or 60 miles per hour as designated by the operating
railroad.
Normal speed : 70 mph
The maximum authorized speed.
HighBall: Maximum speed of locomotive
Not a prototypical speed.
Roll: Decelerate or Accelerate at momentum speed to ROLL (speed step one). Hold down
for braking sounds.
Not an offi cial railroad speed.

2. Decelerate to speed step 1 (ROLL)
Release Touch-Screen Roll Icon
1. Brake sound stops
2. Deceleration continues to speed step 1
Press Touch-Screen Roll Icon again
1. Activate brake sounds
2. Deceleration continues
Press Touch-Screen Roll Icon while at Stop
1. Accelerate to ROLL (speed step one)
