2) Check the radiator cap valve open pres
using radiator cap tester.
Raise the pressure until the needle of ga
stops and see if the pressure can be retaine(
five to six seconds. The radiator cap is nOI
if a pressure above the service limit value
been maintained for this period.
Radiator cap valve open pressure
Standard value:
78 - 98 kPa
(0.8 - 1.0 kg/cm2, 11 - 14 psi)
Service limit: 69 kPa (0. 7 kg/cm2, 10
CAUTION:
Rust or dirt on cap may prevent valve fr
functioning normally: be sure to clean
before testing.
3) If the coolant temperature exceeds 76.(
SO.O°C (1 69 to 1 76°F) while radiator is not
hot, check thermostat. If thermostat does
open at 76.0 to SO.O°C (1 69 to 1 76°F), repl;
it with a new one.
4) If electric fan does not operate when cool
temperature exceeds 90 to 94°C (1 94 to 201
check thermoswitch or fan motor.
