Installing a Four-Port PCI RS-232 Board

The Four-Port RS-232 Board (3030-K169) occupies one PCI slot and
provides four RS-232 ports. The board requires one unique IRQ and
four eight-byte I/O addresses which are automatically assigned by the
PCI BIOS. It can operate in a Windows 95/98/2000 or Windows NT
environment. The board uses a four-port RS-232 cable to connect to
peripheral devices.
Note: Support for one type of serial port board is provided. The Dual
Port RS-232 Board, the Four-Port RS-232 Board or the Eight-Port RS-232
Board cannot be in the unit at the same time; they are mutually
exclusive.
The sections that follow provide the hardware installation instructions
and software set-up instructions for the Four-Port RS-232 Board.

Hardware Installation

For board installation, refer to Removing/Replacing an Adapter Board in
the 7452 Workstation Hardware Service Guide. After the board is secured
in the terminal, attach the four-port cable to the board.

Software Installation

Windows 95
1. Upon detecting the Smartio C104/PCI Series board, Win95 displays
a "New Hardware Found" message box, and the "Update Device
Driver Wizard" displays. Click "Next."
2. Select to "Other Locations" and click "Finish."
3. Browse to D:\Globetek_Moxa\Win9X on the CD-ROM. Click "OK."
4. Click "Finish" to load the driver.
5. After the driver is installed, the MOXA C104 PCI Series Installation
dialog box displays and the port mapping is automatically done by
the system.
