5.16 System Unit Cover Assembly

The system unit cover assembly consists of the hood, front bezel, cover pusher springs, power
button, bezel blank, and the Compaq logo.
5.16.1 System Unit Cover Release Buttons
To remove the release buttons, complete the following steps
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 5.4).
2. Remove the system unit cover (Section 5.7) and place it with the bezel face down onto a
protected surface.
3. From the inside of the system unit cover, remove the five screws that attach the front bezel to the
cover.
4. Separate the bezel from the system unit cover. The two cover release buttons can be removed at
this time.

To install the latch retainers, reverse the above procedure.
When reassembling the system unit cover, ensure that the cover pusher springs are installed.
