Notes: Due to OS limitations, some operating systems may not show more than
4 GB of memory.
Due to memory allocation to system devices, the amount of memory that remains
available for operational use will be reduced when 4 GB of RAM is used. The
reduction in memory availability is disproportional. (See the Table below.)

Installing PCI Expansion Cards

The 7046A-HR+/7046A-HR+F can accommodate standard size add-on cards in-
stalled into all of the slots on the X8DAH+/X8DAH+F serverboard.
Installing an Add-on Card
1.
Begin by removing the shield for the PCI slot you wish to populate.
2.
Fully seat the card into the slot, pushing down with your thumbs evenly on
both sides of the card.
3.
Finish by using a screw to secure the top of the card shield to the chassis.
The PCI slot shields protect the serverboard and its components from EMI
and aid in proper ventilation, so make sure there is always a shield covering
each unused slot.
