5. Model Removal

during the whole process of model removal.
4. Removing Support Material

3D Printed models are composed of two parts. One part is the model itself, and
the other one is the support structure used to support any overhanging portion
of the model.
The support structure printed by UP! printer is generated using the same
material as the model material, except the support structure is printed at lower
density. It is very easy to remove the support structure from the model.
Figure 5-1 shows an example print, a teapot. The left picture shows the teapot
model with support structure removed, and the right picture shows the teapot
just after the print job is done.
UP! 3D Printer provides a set of tools, including wood carving chisels, pliers, wire
cutters, and etc., to help you remove the support structure. Some of support
structures can be easily ripped off by hand. For some structures that are not easy
to remove, it is easier to remove them using tools that come with the machine.
