Decorative Tapering Stitches

The Decorative Tapering Stitches can be used to taper the stitch
to form corners and points.
1. Select a Decorative Tapering Stitch. The Decorative Tapering
Stitches are marked with a blue color in the Stitch panel in the
lid.
2. Press the CLR button to open the Tapering view. Use the
left and right arrow buttons to select beginning and/or end
tapering. Press OK to activate. Select the angle you want for
your taper by using the arrow buttons.
3. Press the CLR button to close the Tapering view. Icons will
appear on the GraphicDisplay to show you that the beginning
and/or end tapering are activated.
: Its important to adjust your settings before

starting to sew.
4. Place the fabric under the presser foot.
5. Start sewing. If tapering is activated at both the beginning and
at the end, the machine will sew the tapered point and then
continue with the stitch in the selected stitch width. A reverse
icon is shown on the GraphicDisplay. When the stitch is the
length as desired, press the Reverse button to start the end
tapering. When the tapering is completed the machine stops
automatically.
: In Programming, more than one stitch that can be
NOTE
tapered, you do not need to press reverse to activate end
tapering. The end taper will start automatically after the
last stitch in the program.
Tip: For a narrower stitch, adjust the stitch width.
Tip: To repeat a tapering stitch the same size, program the desired
number of stitches and then add tapering at the beginning and/or
end.
: The Automatic Tapering Stitches 1:30 and 1:31
NOTE
will automatically taper the stitch. Follow step 4-5 to sew
these stitches. To repeat the Automatic Tapering stitch
press the STOP button.
