OBH Nordica blender
Before use
Before you use the hand blender for the first time, please read the instruction manual
carefully and keep it for future use.
Wash the container and the lid in warm water with a washing-up liquid before use. The knife
at the bottom of the container is very sharp and should be handled with care. The knife can
be separated from the knife holder and washed separately. Turn carefully the glass jug off
the assembly ring and lift the knife part gently and remove the rubber joint. Now the knife,
the assembly ring and the joint can be cleaned.
How to use the blender
The blender is used for blending, chopping, mashing and mixing e.g. milkshakes, baby
food, soup and sauces. It can also be used for crushing ice for e.g. drinks.
To assemble the blender, position the rubber ring onto the knife part and put the knife part
with the rubber ring inside the assembly ring. Position the glass jug above the knife part and
the assembly ring and turn it clockwise until the jug engages. Check that the jug is firmly
fixed and the blender is ready for use.
The motor of the blender operates the knife blades at high speed in order to ensure a
thorough blending. Consequently, it is important that the blender is placed at an even and
dry surface before it is activated. Also check that the container is correctly positioned on
the motor part. If not, the blender cannot start.
The blender must be used continuously for max 3 minutes, after which it should rest for 1
minute.
In order to be sure that the jug is not overfilled, the amount should not be more than about
max 1 L. Use the measurement scale on the container as an indication. Put the lid on the jug
before activating the blender. Check that the blender is in position "0" and apply the plug to
a power socket. Turn the switch to the position you want for a few seconds. Next, turn the
switch back to "0" and check the texture of the blended product. It all happens very fast,
so do not blend too long.
Use the position "Pulse" (P) (moment) for short intervals and for crushing ice. Keep the
switch in that position to make the blender function. As soon as the switch is released, the
blender will stop. Use the "Pulse" to avoid a too long period of blending.
Precautions – warm liquids
The glass jug is resistant to hot ingredients such as hot liquids or soups. When warm
liquids are added to the closed container (e.g. a blending jug with lid) a high pressure will
automatically be created. Consequently, there is a risk that the lid is pushed off during use
and that the warm liquid splashes out. To avoid this situation, proceed as follows:
1. The temperature of the liquid to be blended must not exceed 50 °C
2. Fill the jug half-way up with the wanted ingredients (e.g. vegetables, root vegetables
etc.).
3. Start the blender at level 1 or 2 (not the Pulse level) and slowly add the liquid (hot bouillon,
