Switching Objectives - Nikon SMZ1500 Instructions Manual

■ Parfocal adapter
When using the objective in combination of 1.6X
and 1X, attach the parfocal adapter to the 1.6X
objective and then connect the adapter to the
objective mounting plate of the P-OTR double
nosepiece. The two objectives have almost the
same focal point, and focus adjustment is not
necessary when the two objectives are switched.

■ Switching objectives

Rotate the objective mounting plate 180°, and the
objective attached at the rear enters the optical path.
■ Switching observation positions
Rotate the objective mounting plate to
switch the optical path position of the
objective as shown in the right figure.

Rotate the objective mounting plate to
a click-stop position.
Note 2)
When the P-OTR double nosepiece
and the P-ICI2 Coaxial Episcopic
Illuminator are used together, flare
may appear in the view if the P-OTR
double nosepiece is set to the vertical
observation position and the zoom
magnification is set to 5X or less.
When observation position is switched
between normal observation position
and vertical observation position,
rotate the 1/4 lambda plate again to
adjust the brightness and contrast.
