TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

The cabinet temperature is controlled by the thermostat located at the back of the
unit in the lower left corner. Rotate the dial to adjust the cabinet temperature.
The setting O indicates that the device is turned off. Turning the temperature
control clockwise from this setting turns the device on automatically, with setting 7
resulting in the coldest inside temperature.
Initially, turn the control to its maximum setting (7) and leave it there until the
device has reached the desired operating temperature. Afterwards, turn the control
back to a medium setting.
The optimum position of the thermostat depends on the temperature you prefer.
Cabinet temperature is affected by the ambient temperature, frequency of door
opening, the amount of stored food and the placement of the freezer . You can
adjust the thermostat according to current conditions.
Generally, the thermostat knob is set at the midpoint of the dial. When room
temperature is lower than usual, place the dial at a lower setting. Conversely, if the
room temperature is higher than normal, adjust the thermostat to a higher setting.
NOTES:
Turning the temperature control to the O position stops the cooling cycle but does
not shut off the power to the unit.
If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes
before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the unit
will not start.
DEFROSTING YOUR UNIT
When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the
unit when the frost on the evaporator wall is excessive or ¼ inch thick.
How? Remove the frozen food from the unit and place it in a cooler to protect the food.
To start defrosting, turn the temperature control to O, unplug the unit and remove the
shelf. After the frost or ice has melted, use a clean sponge or towel to remove the
melt water, then thoroughly dry the interior of the unit. The unit can be restarted by
turning the thermostat to the desired setting.
CAUTION
Do not use boiling water to speed defrosting because it may damage plastic
parts. In addition, never use a sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost as it
may damage the cooling system and will void your warranty. We recommend
using a plastic scraper.

FOOD STORAGE

Foods to be stored in the freezer should be properly packed in plastic bags or
wrap, aluminum foil or covered containers to prevent mixing odors and various
degrees of moisture.
Never store any inflammable, volatile or explosive substances.
