Temperature Control
1. The temperature in the freezer is controlled by the thermostat which is located
on the right side of the control panel near the top of the unit. It is marked
TEMP CONTROL. Use a coin to change the setting of the thermostat.
2. The marks around the thermostat knob represent different temperature
settings. Setting "MIN" is the warmest and "MAX" is the coldest.
3. In normal use, the selector should be set to "MED" (medium).
Fresh foods such as fish and meat can be frozen to maintain freshness and
keep the nutrients in the food.
Food should be wrapped in aluminum foil or some other type of airtight
packaging.
Do not allow frozen food in freezer to touch foods just placed into freezer. This
can damage the food.
Frozen foods from the store should be placed in the freezer promptly, so they
do not thaw.
Never place fresh vegetables and fruits into the freezer as they can suffer
freezer burn.
FAST FREEZE
Fast freezing protects food from damage from large ice crystals that form
when food is frozen at a slow rate. With a fast freeze, smaller ice crystals form;
these do not penetrate the cell membranes of the food. This helps preserve
the nutrients and freshness of the food.
