Illuminated Labels Area
Use this illuminated area for attaching description labels to each
Function Key. Custom-made labels can be ordered through:

Eight Function Keys
The eight Function Keys facilitate specific operations. The function
of each key is set via a pre-installed software Utility, called
ExtraKey (See "ExtraKey Application" on page 24).
The Function Keys can be set to:
• Operate like a standard keyboard hot-key
• Launch any application (like Notepad or Calculator)
• Turn the display backlight On/Off
• Enter the Standby mode
• Enter Hibernation mode (when enabled)
• Mute display speaker
• CPU audio (mixer) up
• CPU audio (mixer) down

Smart Card Compartment
Environmentally sealed Smart Card Compartment.
To install the Smart Card:
1. Open the door of the Smart Card Compartment.
2. Insert the Smart Card into the Smart Card Compartment (For
contacts orientation, see Figure 6.)
3. Gently press the Smart Card into the Smart Card Compartment
until a "click" is heard ensuring the Smart Card is fully
engaged and locked inside the Smart Card Compartment.
4. Close the door of the Smart Card Compartment.
To remove the Smart Card:
1. Open the door of the Smart Card Compartment.
2. Gently press the Smart Card into the Smart Card Compartment
until a "click" is heard ensuring the Smart Card unlocked.
3. Remove the Smart Card.
4. Close the door of the Smart Card Compartment.
