Operating Instructions

Install the power adapter in a location that allows for air flow around
the adapter. Restricted air flow around the adapter may cause the adapter
to overheat and shut down. This is a safety feature and will not harm
the adapter or your device. Do not mount the adapter in a vehicle glove
compartment or cover it in such a way that heat can not dissipate. This
adapter is not intended to be installed in the engine compartment or any
other place where it can be exposed to moisture or excessive heat.
The adapter is provided with flanged ends that have pre-drilled holes for
mounting. Use the adapter as a template to mark drilling holes for permanent
installation. Choose a mounting place where the input/output terminals
will not be shorted and where damage can not occur to the adapter or any
critical wiring in vicinity.
The adapter is supplied with terminal screw electrical connections to
accommodate a wide variety of input/output cable lengths and combinations.
Choose the appropriate input/output cables to use for your application and
wire them to the appropriate terminals on the adapter. Make sure proper
polarity is observed when wiring or the adapter or peripheral device could
become damaged. The illustration below indicates the +plus and -minus
input/output connections for wiring. The adapter input must be connected
to the DC voltage source through a fused circuit rated at 15-20 amps.
