If the windows fog over in the recircu-
lated-air mode, switch it off and, if neces-
sary, increase the air volume.
The recirculated-air mode should not be used
continuously for lengthy periods, as the quality
of the air inside the car will otherwise gradually
deteriorate.<
Residual heat utilisation
Press the button with the engine
switched off but still warm.
Heat from the engine is stored and
used to heat the car's interior, for
instance when waiting at a level crossing.
With the ignition key in position 1 or beyond,
you can adjust the settings of the automatic air
conditioning system.
You can use this function for up to 15 minutes
after switching off the engine if it is warm and
the battery is sufficiently well charged. The LED
in the button comes on if these conditions are
met.
Switching off automatic air
conditioning
The air volume, the heating and the
cooling function are switched off.
The automatic air conditioning can
be switched on again by pressing
any button except the REST button.
Adjusting via iDrive
With the ignition key in position 2, you can
adjust the settings of the automatic air condi-
tioning system via iDrive.

Press the
button.
The start menu is called up.
2.
Move the controller to the left to call up "Cli-
mate".
You can adjust the following:
>
Manual air distribution, separate settings
for driver's and front passenger's side
>
Temperature for the upper body area
>
Intensity of the AUTO program
The settings are saved for the remote control
currently in use.
Manual air distribution
You can specify the air distribution settings and
also select the air temperature settings for the
upper body area.

Select "Air distribution" and press the
controller.
2.
Select the desired field by moving the
controller and turn the controller to adjust
the air distribution.
