such as understeering or oversteering and
helps to keep the vehicle on a stable course,
subject to the limits imposed by the basic laws
of dynamics, by reducing the engine output and
applying the brakes to the wheels.
DSC is ready to operate each time the engine is
started.
Not even DSC can overcome the laws of
physics. It is therefore the driver's
responsibility to adopt a suitable driving style in
every situation. Do not undermine the addi-
tional safety afforded by this system by taking
driving
risks.<
Indicator light for DSC
The indicator light goes out shortly
after the engine has been started. If the
indicator light is flashing: DSC is regu-
lating the propulsive and braking forces. If the
indicator light is on permanently: DSC is
switched off.
M Dynamic Mode MDM
M Dynamic Mode is a mode of Dynamic Stabil-
ity Control DSC that is specially designed for
the racing circuit. M Dynamic Mode permits
driving with maximum longitudinal and lateral
acceleration on a dry road surface, but dynamic
stability is restricted. The system only takes
stabilising action very close to the limits of han-
dling, by reducing engine output and applying
the brakes to the wheels. In these operating
conditions, countersteering by the driver may
be necessary.
M Dynamic Mode is always switched off when
the engine is started.
With the M Dynamic Mode activated, sta-
bilising action is only carried out to a
lesser
extent.<
In the interests of maintaining dynamic
stability, always try to drive with DSC
switched on and the M Dynamic Mode
switched
off.<

ing the propulsive and braking forces.
Activating MDM
You activate M Dynamic Mode via the button
on the steering wheel, see MDrive on page 43.
With the ignition key in position 2, you can
adjust the MDrive settings on the control dis-
play.
