M Engine Dynamic Control
M Engine Dynamic Control enables you to influ-
ence how sportily your car responds to move-
ments of the accelerator pedal. There are three
engine control programs available.
Program "P 400"
In the "P 400" program, the engine responds
benignly to accelerator pedal movement, ideal
e.g. for urban traffic or driving on snow. Minimal
fuel consumption is achieved, and the engine's
output is reduced.
Program "P 500"
The "P 500" program provides maximum out-
put and more spontaneous engine response to
accelerator pedal movements.
Program "P 500 Sport"
In the "P 500 Sport" program, as well as pro-
ducing maximum performance the engine
responds very spontaneously and uncompro-
misingly to accelerator pedal movements.
Selecting a program
Each time the engine is started, the "P 400"
program is activated.
Press the POWER button to activate the
"P 500" program. Pressing the POWER button
repeatedly alternates between the "P 400" and
"P 500" programs.
You can also call up your preferred program
via the button on the steering wheel, see
MDrive on page 43. The "P 500 Sport" program
can only be activated via MDrive.

When the "P 500" and "P 500 Sport" programs
are selected, the LED in the POWER button
lights up.

Indicating a turn
Press the lever beyond the pressure point.
To cancel it manually, press the lever as far as
the pressure point.
If the indicator light flashes more rapidly
than usual, a flashing turn indicator bulb
has failed; if towing a trailer, the failed bulb
could also be on the trailer.
Make sure that the parking lights are not on
after you switch off the
Indicating a turn briefly
Press the lever as far as the pressure point and
hold it there for as long as you wish to indicate a
turn.
Triple turn signal
Press the lever as far as the pressure point; the
flashing turn indicator flashes three times.
You can activate or deactivate this function.
