current DSP MODE status.

Depending on the type of the signal or speaker settrng, some lrstenrng
modes cannot be selected

When playback IS started, the sound may be cut or Interrupted before
the Input source IS confirmed as Dolby Drgrtal
l
To enjoy Dolby Drgrtal surround (as well as all the other lrstenrng modes)
from a single component, be sure to use a Dolby Drgrtal compatrble
source component
UsingaDVDplayerortheIlkeequlppedwlths~x(5.1)outputchannelsand
the recerver, you can enjoy surround sound playback.
When you try to play a disc other than Dolby Drgrtal such as DTS CD, no
sound is produced or, nor-se may be heard. To avord this situatron, make
sure that you connect the component to the recerver's DVD/GCH INPUT
lacks through a surround processor whrch can decode the surround
srgnal you want to listen to.
Connectrng a DVD player whrch can decode the surround signal Itself IS
also acceptable

Preparations
l
Connect your DVD player to the DVD/GCH lacks of the receiver.
*Turn on all other components that will be used.
l
Complete "Preparing for surround sound".

n Press "DVD/GcH" as the input source.

If speaker system B is on when "DVD/GCH" IS selected as the input
source, it swatches off and speaker system A turns on automatr-
tally.
H Select "SCH INPUT" by pressing the INPUT MODE key.
E) Start playback of the DVD software.

Adjust the volume.
l
It IS not possrble to adjust the volume level or sound qualrty (SET
UP, SOUND) of the channels separately when the receiver IS in the
DVD/GCH mode. Adjust the volume with the controls of the DVD
player.
For the powered subwoofer,
you can adjust the volume of the
subwoofer using the subwoofer's
own volume control.
