ZyAIR B-420 Wireless LAN Ethernet Adapter and Bridge

1.3.2 Ad Hoc

An ad-hoc network consists of two or more computers communicating with one another through the wireless
network. No access points (APs) or existing wired networks are needed. An access point acts as a bridge
between the wireless and wired networks.

1.3.3 Bridge

The ZyAIR can function in bridge mode allowing you to connect two wired network segments. This wireless
bridge connection is equivalent to a Wireless Distribution System (WDS). Deploy WDS for one point-to-
point connection with a high-performance unidirectional antenna. Computer A connected to the ZyAIR in
bridge mode can talk to computer B or C via another WLAN adapter in bridge mode or any other wireless
device with a bridging function.
