Turning on the power

Important: You must turn on the storage expansion enclosures before the DS4400
Storage Server. The controllers might not recognize the correct configuration if the
hard disk drives are turned on after the DS4400 Storage Server. For instructions on
turning on the storage expansion enclosures, refer to the storage expansion
enclosure documentation.
Note: Always wait at least 30 seconds between the time you turn off a power
Check the system documentation for the hardware devices that you intend to turn
on, and then determine the proper startup sequence. Turn on the power to each
device in the following order:
v Supporting devices
v Storage expansion enclosures
v DS4400 Storage Server
v Host
If you are restoring power to the DS4400 Storage Server after an emergency
shutdown or power outage, go to "Overtemperature condition and power supply
shutdown" on page 36.
Use the following procedure to turn on the DS4400 Storage Server and connected
devices:
