5. OPERATION
STARTING
THE ENGINE

Exhaust
contains
poisonous
carbon
monoxide
gas that
may
cause
loss of consciousness
and lead to death.
Never run the engine in an
enclosed
area.
Be sure to provide
adequate
ventilation.
NOTE:
Before
starting
the
engine,
make
sure
that
the
transmission
release
lever
under
the seat
is in the ENGAGED
position.
TRANSMISSION
RELEASE
LEVER
1. Sit on the seat and adjust
the seat position
(see page 30). Check that the
parking
brake lever is set, the transmission
is in neutral,
and the PTO
lever is
in
the OFF (disengaged)
position.
2. Move
the throttle
lever
to the START
(CHOKE)
position.
NOTE:
When
the engine
is warm
or the air temperature
is high,
move
the
throttle
to SLOW.
