BLADE
Before
each
use,
inspect
the blades
for damage
or excessive
wear.
l
Remove
the ignition
key and remove
the spark plug caps to prevent
ac-
cidental
starting.
l
Wear
heavy
gloves
to protect
your hands from the blades.
1. Set the parking
brake,
and move
the PTO lever
to the OFF (disengaged)
position.
2. Raise the deck
height
adjusting
lever
as high
as it will
go.
3. Inspect
the blades
for cracks,
bending
and wear:
l
38
inch
deck
a. The
right
blade
can be seen through
the discharge
opening;
the
left
blade
can been
seen
under
the left side of the deck.
b. Rotate
the blades
1 80°
and inspect
the other
sides.
l
42 and 46 inch
deck
a. The
right
and
center
blades
can be seen
through
the discharge
opening;
the left blade
can been seen under
the left front
edge of
the deck.
b. Rotate
the blades
180°
and inspect
the other
sides.
