Troubleshooting

Problem
Scanner is on
but will not
scan.
Scanner does
not turn on.
Scanner
keypad
doesn't work.

flashing.
Poor or no
reception.
Invalid Freq.

Scanner
display locks
up or stops
operating
properly
Cause
Squelch is not
adjusted correctly.
Only one channel
or no channels are
stored.
Batteries are
discharged.
The AC adapter is
not connected
The keylock
function is
activated.
Batteries are low.
Batteries are weak
or completely
discharged.
Antenna is loose.
Programming
error.
Internal error.
Internal error.

Solution
Adjust squelch.
Store frequencies
into more than one
channel.
Recharge the
rechargeable
batteries or replace
the non-rechargeable
batteries.
Be sure the adapter's
barrel plug is fully
plugged into the
jack.
To turn off the
keylock, press Func
+ KEYLOCK. Keypad
unlocked appears.
Recharge the
rechargeable
batteries or replace
the alkaline batteries.
Check the batteries
or make sure the AC
adapter is connected
properly.
Make sure an
antenna is connected
to the scanner.
Re-enter the
frequency or number
correctly, including
the decimal point.
Turn scanner off
and on again, or
disconnect and
reconnect power
source.
Reset the scanner.
