When you try to play a drsc other than Dolby Drgital such as DTS CD, no
sound IS produced or, norse may be beard. To avord thus srtuatron, make
sure that you connect the component to the receiver's DVD/GCH INPUT
lacks through a surround processor whrch can decode the surround
signal you want to lrsten to
Connecting a DVD player which can decode the surround signal Itself IS

Adjusting the sound
You can make further adjustments to the sound while lrstenrng to
playback rn the surround mode.
0 Press the SOUND key until the desired item appears in the
display.
Each time you press the button, the menu changes as follows:

Midnight mode (Dolby Digital mode only)

When watching movres at night , you mrght not be able to raise the
volume as loud as normal. Mrdnrght mode compresses the dynamic
range of previously specrfred parts of the Dolby Drgrtal sound track (like
scenes with sudden rncreases rn volume) to mrnrmrze the drfference in
volume between the specrfred and non-specrfred parts. This makes It
easy to hear all of the sound track, even when listening at low volumes.
0 Press the SOUND key repeatedly until "NIGHT" appears on the
display.

This can be selected only If CD/DVD. DVD or DVD/GCH(VR-61 S/KRF-
V506OD only), or VIDEO2 IS selected as the source and the lrsten
mode IS set to "DOLBY DIGITAL."
