Setting up the system
Connecting system control cords after connecting a KENWOOD
audio component system lets you take advantage of convenient
system control operations.
This unit is compatible only with the [SL-161 mode. The system
control operation is not available if the unit is connected in the
[XSSI, [XSI, or [XRI connection mode.
Ifyourcomponenthasthemodeselectswitch,settheconnected
components to the [SL161 mode.

* In order to take advantage of the system control operatrons, the
components must be connected to the correct lacks To use a CD
player It must be connected to the CD lacks. To use a cassette deck
for MD recorder) It imust be connected to the MDflAPE jacks
When usrng more than one CD player letc 1 only the one connected
to the specrfred jacks may be connected for system control
n Some CD players and cassette decks are not compatrble with the
fSL161 system control mode Do not make system connectrons
with equrpment that IS not fSL161 compatrble
n Some MD players are not system control compatible You cannot
make system control connectrons to this krnd of equipment

1 ISL161 equpment cannot be combrned with IXRI, IXSI, and IXS81
equrpment for system operatrons If your equipment consrsts of
this kind of combrnatron, please do not connect any system control
cords. Even wrthout system control cords, normal operatrons can
be carried out without effecting performance.
! Do not connect system control cords to any components other
than those specrfred by KENWOOD. It may cause a malfunctron
and damage your equrpment
3 Be sure the system control plugs are Inserted all the way rn to the
system control terminals.
SYSTEM CONTROL OPERATIONS
Remote Control
Lets you operate thus unrt wrth the system remote supplied with the
recerver
Automatic Operation
When you start playback from a source component, the Input selector
on this unrt swatches to that component automatically.
Synchronized Recording
Lets you synchronrze recordrng wrth the start of playback when
recordrng from CD, MD or analog drscs.
