This multi-function terminal can process both black&white and colour documents, and is capable of faxing, printing and scanning; it can also be used for communication on the Internet.

The terminal contains high-voltage circuit which creates the danger of electrical shock when exposed.

    Installation NSTALLATION OF THE TERMINAL Installation of the base and the equipped interface Set the base down vertically, and insert the columns of the equipped mechanical interface into their respective openings. Screw in and tighten the 8 mounting screws. Take hold of the upper part of the interface and set the assembly upright.
  • Page 18 Installation To install the printer on the optional equipment items, use the following procedure: Unscrew the knurled nuts, pull up the columns as high as possible, then tighten the knurled nuts again. Place the printer on the base or on the optional equipement, positioning it on its locating pins.

Put the document feeder in place by pushing its two locking pins into the corresponding openings on the scanner. We advise you start with connecting the leads and cables that arrive on the scanner unit. Connecting the leads and cables to the scanner Make sure that the mains on/off switches of scanner and printer are set to "O".

Group together all the leads and cables connected so far on the back of the righthand column. Take the cable sleeve, open it and fit the leads and cables in the sleeve. Position the assembled cable sleeve in the 3 guide clips and lock the clips.

    Installation NSTALLING THE CONSUMABLES Close the paper transfer unit. Open the top cover and remove the protective packing pieces. In this example, it is assumed that the installed cartridge is the black toner cartridge. Protective packing piece Make sure that the side of the cartridge with the markings (warning notices, etc.) is turned downwards, and shake the new cartridge horizontally 5 to 6 times in order to distribute the toner uniformly inside the cartridge, as on the illustration.

    Installation APER LOADING This section describes the procedure for loading paper in the cassette and the multifunction tray. OADING PAPER IN THE CASSETTE Air the package of printing supports (paper/transparencies), then align the stack on a flat surface, to avoid paper jams or slanted printing. Pull the cassette out of the printer.

  • Page 31 Installation In the case of printing on special paper, such as 60 to 200 g/m (maximum) colour type paper or transparent film (laser printer compatible), you must use the multifunction tray where you can place up to 100 sheets (A4).     Installation ALL CONNECTIONS Caution - Make sure that the mains On/Off switch of the scanner is set to "O" (Off). ELEPHONE AND LAN CONNECTIONS Connect the end of the telephone lead to the telephone wall socket (please see the paragraph Terminal connections, on page 1-11), for the connections to the scanner.

    Installation OLOUR REGISTRATION When you use the printer for the first time after having installed it or moved it to a different location, or when one of the colours (cyan, magenta or yellow) is being printed with a visible offset relative to the others, use this mode to correct the colour alignment from the printer control panel.
