Installation Remove the plastic bag and peel off the shipping tape from the back of the printer. Take the paper cassette out of the plastic packaging and remove the adhesive strip which serves as a protection for the cover during transportation.

Installation Remove the two transportation guards in the paper feed inlet as well as the adhesive tape. Carefully push the paper cassette as far as it will go into the printer shaft by inserting it into the guide rails on the left and the right (see the following illustration). Once the cassette has been inserted it can no longer be removed.

Installation Remove the cover of the paper cassette and push the two paper guides apart. Insert the paper (max. 250 sheets with 80 g/m ) into the cassette with the side to be printed facing upwards. Press the paper guides together so that they are close to the edge of the paper and then replace the cover of the paper cassette.

Installation Caution - The manual paper feed only permits you to insert one page at a time. Please insert only one sheet between the paper guides. All fax transmissions which take place via the public telephone network are in black-and-white. Maintenance Caution - The fusing unit located inside the printer may become very hot during operation. Avoid any contact with it, or you may injure yourself. Fusing unit 4 - Remove the old toner cartridge. Caution - In order to protect the environment, do not throw away the spent toner cartridge.

Maintenance 5 - Remove the new toner cartridge from its box. Hold it firmly with both hands and shake t alternately in the directions shown by the arrows in the diagram below. 6 - Holding the cartridge by its handle, slide it into the printer. Maintenance When one or more vertical lines appear on transmitted copies or faxes, do the following steps: Open the scanning cover of the sheet-feed scanner by pressing the open key (A). Clean the transparent scanning glass (B) with a soft lint-free cloth soaked with alcohol.

Maintenance The fax machine makes at most 5 automatic redials. The non-transmitted document is automatically deleted from the memory and a transmission report is printed. The report contains a failure code and gives the cause for transmission failure (see the communication error codes). The communication error codes appear in the logs and transmission reports.
